“Today, let us wish each other a Happy New Year, but also that we may make it meaningful” Dalai Lama.
Firstly it is the perfect opportunity to wish you a very happy New Year and welcome to 2014. As we have entered the first day of the New Year, we surely have expectations, occasions or events to look forward to, like graduations, weddings, newborns, holidays – the list is endless.
We may also have some regrets, like a heavy baggage we may be carrying along with us into 2014, from either last year or many years before that. How heavy do we feel?
If we have woken up today feeling light and relaxed with nothing niggling at the back of our minds, or in the background, whatever we have done in the last year has worked!
During the Christmas break and going into the New Year, we do reflect on what we should have done and what we did not do, and to a certain extent we do procrastinate a little too much.
Maybe it is time to do more than just plan, action the plan and do it. The intention is there it is time to get down to it. As the years roll on, we do come to the realisation that we don’t have to wait for the new calendar to make new plans, we don’t have we wait for a new year to arrive to eat more sensibly, to do more exercise, to drink more water, to de-clutter the mind or to have a healthy balanced lifestyle. It is an ongoing everyday process. The Time is now!
So here is to a Healthy and Peaceful New Year, from the first page of 2014, hope we write it well. I love diaries, it just puts down our good intentions into action as we write it at the end of the day and it is what we have actually done, and if not and get down and do it! And as the Dalai Lama said, may it be meaningful.
Wishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year.
