Swedish Deep Tissue Massage

Therapeutic Massage ~ From Finchley to High Barnet and Surrounds

Swedish deep tissue massage therapy involves the manipulation of the muscles and other soft tissues of the body, often with varying pressure and movement, at a deeper level than a standard relaxation massage.

The aim is to relax the soft tissues, increase delivery of blood and oxygen to the massaged areas, and release chronic muscle tension. It’s often used to alleviate pain, and is an excellent way for anyone who is feeling increased levels of stress to relax their body and mind. Studies have shown that Deep Tissue Massage can help to reduce stress hormone levels and trigger the release of relaxation and mood-improving chemicals in the brain.

Deep Tissue Massage is one of the most effective ways to treat pain, caused by bad posture, injury or overuse of muscles, and uses firm pressure to release tight layers of muscle and tissue.

What Should I Expect From The Treatment?

Your treatment will start by discussing your symptoms, medical history, your desired results, and other relevant factors such as work and levels of stress.

During the massage, I will use oil or powder to reduce friction on the skin, along with direct pressure onto the areas we identified as needing treatment. I may use my hands, fingertips, knuckles, forearms, and even elbows to achieve the most effective results, and I may use other aids, such as ice and heat, to support the treatment further.

What Are The Benefits OF Swedish Massage?

Swedish deep tissue massage may be used for a number of health complaints, including pain relief, sports rehabilitation, stress relief, and general health and wellness. It is especially helpful for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas, such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness and sore shoulders.
