Another week and another interesting reflection. Over the last week, I have been doing more Massage, specifically Manual lymphatic drainage ( MLD), Sports and Remedial, Deep Tissue and, not to forget, Myofascial release.
Comments during and after massage seem to be,” I did not realise how stiff I get during the winter.” “I feel so much relaxed now”. “I need to come at least once a month to help my flexibility”. “I feel so good!” and “I have more head space!”
I feel the change in the body of the person during treatment and it is incredible how supple one can be after a session or two. From the receiving end, it is also about body awareness. Those of us, who have received a massage, would have possibly been quite surprised at why there is pain or tightness in an area that they were not really aware of before!
Body awareness is key to knowing our bodies and where we hold tension and postural stress. How we walk, sit, run, all puts strains and stresses in different parts of our bodies. A massage is a great way of not only combating pain but deep relaxation and so much more. See below.
